I have a deep human background in the fields of psychology and counselor education. As Managing Director of the Christensen Center for Innovation at Duke University, I lead a team dedicated to advancing innovation for social good. My work focuses on people-centered innovation: how balance, empathy, and energy management fuel discovery, collaboration, and sustainable productivity. I’ve co-authored The Leader's Playbook with my co-instructor in Business Leadership, Mike Salvino, a former Fortune 500 CEO whose experiences complement my own. Our leadership framework centers on Reflection, Empathy, Adaptive thinking, and Leveraging strengths (R.E.A.L. Leadership) as the foundation for effective leaders who want to be the best at what they do.
